END wire from a used empty pack with the START wire of the
next full pack.
Both butt-welding and joint flash grinding operations only take
a few seconds, and the two wire ends may be joined even while
the robot is welding.
A boom will assist the automatic change to the new pack without
any operator intervention.
This system is particularly convenient with multi-robot cells
where the downtime of one pack change has to be necessarily
multiplied by the number of robots in the cell or in those plants
where, due to space restrictions, the packs must be installed
far from the welding robot and re-inserting the wire from a
new pack into the feeder conduit could cause a lot of downtime
and unwanted production stops. |
